House Rule: Farfallans (Half-Bothans) for Star Wars d20 Saga

Who's still thinking about Star Wars? I am, and having recently picked up a well-loved copy of the Saga Edition Core Rulebook, I'm thinking I'll probably run it instead of d20 Revised. (Half skill ranks... ugh...) Luckily my fixation on fauns (faunxation?) can be quickly remedied by the fact that this little-seen species shows up in the works formerly known as the Expanded Universe; this is my take on making them playable. Farfallan

Farfallans, sometimes called Half-Bothans, are an equine humanoid species hailing from Farfalla. They are easily recognized by their cloven hooves and long tails.

Farfallans have rarely been seen in the larger galaxy, and much of their origin is shrouded in mystery. Their descent from the Bothan species is unquestioned, but they may also have Sephi ancestry (evidenced by their pointed ears).

Personality: Farfallans tend to be detail-oriented and loquacious.

Physical Description: Farfallans have long, furry legs ending in cloven hooves; they also have long tails, pointed ears, and may sport forehead horns of various sizes. They average between 1.6 and 2.0 meters tall.

Homeworld: Farfalla, in the Indra-su-Mar sector of the Expansion Region.

Languages: Farfallans speak, read, and write Basic and Bothese.

Example Names: Lirondo, Valenthyne Farfalla

Adventurers: Farfallans have been little seen since the days of the Old Republic, but those recorded in history have lived exciting lives. They make excellent scouts and nobles, and at least two served as Jedi during the New Sith Wars.

Farfallan Species Traits

Farfallans share the following species traits:

Ability Modifiers: +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, -2 Wisdom. Farfallans are nimble and well-spoken, but have difficulty interpreting other species' social cues.

Medium Size: As Medium creatures, Farfallans have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

Speed: Farfallan base speed is 8 squares.

Sure Footed: A Farfallan may reroll any Acrobatics check, but must accept the result of the reroll.

Bonus Feat: Farfallans get Running Attack as a bonus feat.

Automatic Languages: Basic and Bothese.
